Lego Club

School board meetings

The Egg Harbor Township Board of Education will hold regular meetings at 7 p.m. on the following Tuesdays in the board room of Alder Avenue Middle School: Nov. 14, Nov. 28 and Dec. 12. The board is scheduled to hold work session meetings at 6 p.m. on the following Tuesdays: Nov. 21 and Dec. 19. Agendas for regular meetings are available in advance at eht.k12.nj.us under Board of Education.

Special Education Resource Group

EHT Special Education Resource Group meets the third Wednesday of every month beginning in October 7 p.m. at the Alder Avenue Middle School board room. Meeting discussions focus on services provided by the school in addition to services available in the community for children with special needs. Mindfulness meditation

The Egg Harbor Township library, 1 Swift Ave., hosts a mindfulness meditation program 10 a.m. Saturdays, Nov. 18, and Dec. 16. The events are presented by trained yoga instructor Linda Schwartz. Registration is requested for each session. For information call 609-927-8664.

Committee meetings

The Egg Harbor Township Committee meets 5 p.m. Wednesdays in the courtroom at the Municipal Building, 3515 Bargaintown Road. Agendas are available at ehtgov.org. The upcoming meeting dates are Nov. 29 and Dec. 20

Cash raffle

The Community Partnership for Egg Harbor Township Schools Inc. is partnering with the Rotary Club of Somers Point and Egg Harbor Township High School’s Project Graduation to host a cash raffle fundraiser that will pay out $25,000 just in time for the holidays. Raffle tickets are $50 each. Only 2,000 tickets will be sold. Three drawings will take place at Doc’s Place in Somers Point. All ticket holders are eligible for all three drawings. The first drawing for $2,000 will be held Oct. 25; the second drawing for $3,000 will be held Nov. 29; and the grand prize drawing of $20,000 will be held Dec. 20. Winners will be contacted via phone or email and will be announced through Facebook and media outlets. Dollar amounts are based on all 2,000 tickets being sold. Proceeds benefit Project Graduation. Turkey trot

The EHT Nature Reserve present the 5th annual Turkey Trot 5k Run and 1 Mile Fun Run 9 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 25. Registration is at 7:30 a.m. with the run and walk beginning at 9 a.m. Registration is $20 runners and $10 for walkers online at https://runsignup.com/Race/NJ/EggHarborTownship/EHTNatureReserveTurkeyTrot5k1Miler or $30 runners and $15 for walkers day of. Christmas show

Greentree Church will celebrate the holiday season with a Christmas show, “Majesty in a Manger” 6:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 2 and Sunday, Dec. 3. Tickets are $8 each, and are available at greentree.org. For information see greentree.org or call the church at 609-927-3838.

Book club

The Egg Harbor Township library, 1 Swift Ave., hosts a monthly book club for adults 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 7. Social Security benefits presentation

The Egg Harbor Township library, 1 Swift Ave., hosts a monthly presentation on Social Security benefits 6 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 14. The free seminars by Marc Catona, president of the Society for Financial Awareness, are open to adults. Registration is required. For information call 609-927-8664.

Middle School Book Club

The Egg Harbor Township library, 1 Swift Ave., hosts monthly Middle School Book Club 5 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 13 Read the designated book each month and and then talk about the favorite books. For information call 609-927-8664.

Kindergarten registration open

The Egg Harbor Township School District is accepting kindergarten registrations. Call 609-927-4141, ext. 1234, for information or an appointment. Required items include shot records, original birth certificate, mortgage statement, tax bill, utility bill or current lease if renting, and valid driver’s license. Only the legal parent or guardian can register a child. Custody papers are accepted if the legal guardian is not available. Children must be 5 years old on or before Oct. 1, 2017. See eht.k12.nj.us.

Library events

The Egg Harbor Township branch of the Atlantic County Library System hosts many programs and activities, including crafts, story times, book clubs, movie nights, yoga and summer plays. EHT Recreation Stamp and Scrap

EHT Parks and Recreation hosts stamp and scrap. Bring photos and adhesives to learn how to make cards and scrap book pages using a variety of methods such as rubber stamping, die cutting, paper piecing, water coloring, embossing, and punching. Cost $50 for residents, $55 for nonresidents. Register at EHTRec.com.

EHT Recreation Fitness Classes

EHT Parks and Recreation hosts adult fitness classes at the EHT Community Center. Classes include yoga, walk off the pounds, circuit training, mindfulness based stress reduction, zumba, pilates, and more. See EHTRec.com for a complete list.

EHT Recreation Science Explorers

EHT Parks and Recreation Science Explorers to provide a hands-on approach to science. It gives children an opportunity to engage in and conduct experiments and activities having to do technology, engineering, chemistry, physics and more. The program is for kids grades 3-6. Register at EHTRec.com.
